What We Do
Wrenches, supper, and honest conversation
2:1 Garage Ministry is a youth ministry that meets in a garage instead of a classroom. Every week mixes the same honest ingredients: good food, a short conversation about God and real life, and a long stretch of hands-on work on real vehicles — with adults who care standing right beside you.
Faith
The Bible part isn't a lecture. It's a conversation — questions, listening, and connecting Scripture to real life and real work. Someone who has never opened a Bible is just as welcome as someone raised in church.
Work
Race trucks, dirt cars, tires, brakes, and motors. Youth learn to use tools safely and do real jobs with their own hands — the kind of skills that build confidence and stick for life.
Brotherhood
Fellowship, teamwork, and adults who show up every week. The shop is a place to ask questions, encourage each other, and belong — exactly as you are.

Nobody is ever pressured to pray or believe anything. The invitation is open; the choice is always yours.
Meet Jerry
The man who opens the shop
Jerry Scott is the heart behind 2:1 Garage Ministry. A hardworking husband, father, grandfather, and man of faith, Jerry believes every young person deserves someone willing to invest in them, encourage them, and remind them that they have a purpose.
His vision for 2:1 is to use something he loves — the garage — to teach real-life skills while building confidence, character, and strong relationships. For Jerry, the garage is simply the place where it all begins. His hope is that every young person who walks through those doors leaves knowing they matter, knowing they are capable, and knowing there are people who believe in them.
Jerry would be the first to tell you he's not the whole story. Bringing 2:1 to life has taken a community — sponsors, donors, volunteers, and his wife, Kimberly Scott, among them.

How the shop runs
- Shop and tool safety is the very first lesson of every six-week cycle — before anyone touches a vehicle.
- Hands-on work happens alongside adults, on real vehicles, at a working garage.
- The Bible portion is conversational, not a lecture. Youth with no church background are fully welcome.
- The closing prayer is always optional — "everyone who is comfortable" is how we say it, and we mean it.
- Parents are welcome every week — to attend, worship, and learn alongside the youth, or simply drop off and pick up.
- The ministry can provide transportation; arrange it with Kim Scott at 470-312-3153.
- It costs nothing to attend, and dinner is provided every week.

FAQ
Straight answers
Does my child need any experience with cars or tools?
None at all. The program starts with tool and shop safety, and every lesson is taught hands-on from the ground up. No experience, no pressure.
Is this only for boys?
No — all youth are welcome. The study materials grew out of a young men's curriculum, but the shop door is open to every young person who wants to learn.
What ages is it for?
Any age — and any gender. If a young person wants to be in the shop, the door is open. Call or text 770-375-7034 if you're wondering whether it's a fit.
What does it cost?
Nothing. It's absolutely free, and that includes dinner every week.
What should my child wear or bring?
Just themselves — their heart, soul, and passion. No tools, no gear, no money. If you're unsure about clothing for shop night, ask when you call.
Do they have to come every week?
No expectations. The six weeks build on each other, so coming regularly helps — but come as you're able, and you'll always be welcome.
What if we don't go to church — or aren't sure what we believe?
Come anyway. The Bible conversation is exactly that — a conversation. Nobody gets quizzed, corrected, or pressured. A youth who has never opened a Bible will feel as welcome as one who grew up in a pew.
Is prayer required?
No. The closing prayer is offered to "everyone who is comfortable" — participation is always a choice, never an expectation.
We can't get there. Is there transportation?
Yes — the ministry can provide transportation. Call or text Kim Scott at 470-312-3153 and she'll arrange it with you.
Can parents stay?
Please do. Parents are welcome to attend, worship, and learn right alongside the youth — or simply drop off and pick up. Whatever works for your family.
